We manage the drinking water, wastewater and storm water services from source to sea for our client councils, who are the Hutt, Porirua, Upper Hutt and Wellington city councils, South Wairarapa District Council and Greater Wellington Regional Council. We partner with the community, engineering consultants and contractors on water services projects, water conservation, operations work and asset planning.
Where do you come in
The Senior Health and Safety Advisor position sits within the Business Services Group, who are responsible for providing support and services that informs high quality decision making within the business.
The Health and Safety team works to improve the health and safety our workers and partners. We look after the health and safety framework, the systems and the strategy. We focus on lifting our organisation's leadership, risk management and worker engagement skills.
To be successful in this role, you will be highly skilled in the following:
Have a health and safety focused diploma, or relevant experience to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledgeAt least seven years' experience in a health and safety roleHave a robust understanding of health and safety law, regulation, and other requirementsExperience in information analysis and presentation of insights and learningsExperience with health and safety systems and frameworks, including the reporting and monitoring functionsGood ability to shape the culture through stories and a vision of the futureCollaboration - you will understand what it takes to bring people together to achieve high level resultsUnderstanding the detail while focusing on the big pictureCommunicating and building strong relationships with stakeholders, so they feel well informed and have a high level of trustThe ability to thrive in a busy and fast paced environmentIn addition to the above you will hold a current full NZ driver's licence, have a reputation as a self-starter, who is focused on providing solutions and outcomes that are in line with best practice.
